Weddings:

For a long time, I specialized in wedding photography. I began to notice something really special. Some couples are soul mates.
That may sound like a strange thing to say, but there are little things about how people deeply in love just seem to fit together.

There are little things about how they seem to move about with one mind. There are these decisive moments that say it all, that
tell of a love story. The wedding story is a celebration of love. By being in the right place at the right time for these special
moments, my photos say soul mate and a beautiful "Wedding Story".

Even when couples start as new friends that grow into a deep love that says, "Yo!, us forever" that is joyous a feeling. There is a
desire to share this feeling with friends and families. The desire to "shout it from the rooftops" is so powerful that a celebration is
in order. Large or small, a celebration marks the start of a new chapter in life. This "Wedding Story" is full of all kinds of love
too. Friends from different times and places are gathered. Family joins in to celebrate the joy and share wishes for long lasting
happiness. It is truly a wonderful day.

My style is to discreetly be in the right place at the right moment to freeze that moment in time. Often folks are so busy with their
tasks that they are not even aware of me being there. The photos from those moments are very candid and rich with the feelings of,
"I've been there too." As you view this type of photo, of a "Wedding Story" unfolding in someone else's life, many reflect warmly
on their own "Wedding Story" and others will look forward to their own day of great joy.

I arrange the "Wedding Story" in a time line sequence for viewing. It's like a movie with still images.

Through the years I'v learned how to use both kinds of light, natural and artificial. A nice thing about digital is that it extends
the range of natural light available to work with. For years with film, it was necessary to balance daylight with flash
(syncro-sunlight balance) to open up shadows when using film. That shadow thing is still important in portraiture. Syncro-light
balance is important in digital portraiture too.

Along with the story flow of the wedding celebration, I have developed a good working flow with making the traditional family
and group portraits. There is a painless way to gather folks for an organized group portrait that doesn't look stiffly posed. For the
Bride & Groom there are just a few of the official quintessential moments, followed by a series of more casual and natural flowing
warm "fuzzy stuff".

My photo coverage is a blend of finding a flow of the emotion as it happens by knowing when and where to be there blended with
just enough of portraits photos, to get to use some of those pictures in frames on the fire place mantle. Since we mostly view and
share our photos on the monitor of a laptop or cell phone, the story flow is a wonderful way to share your wedding memories.
